Windmill Harbour
Windmill Harbour is located immediately on the right as you enter the island and is situated along the Intercoastal Waterway and Broad Creek, where breathtaking sunsets can be witnessed.
The communities signature is in the harbour's technologically advanced lock system, protecting the 260-slip basin from wakes, currents and silting while affording directboating access to the Intracoastal Waterway and Calibogue Sound.
Windmill Harbour comprises the area's award-winning South Carolina Yacht Club. The clubhouse is perched beside the sheltered waters, and architecturally reflects the heritage of Charleston and the Lowcountry, a theme found throughout Windmill Harbour. A waterfront sports center provides excellent recreational amenities as well.

Located off Highway 278 just five miles from the bridge to Hilton Head Island, you'll find Belfair, a private, 1,100-acre community on the scenic marshes of the Colleton River. A magnificent Avenue of Oaks leads you into Belfair where you find two 18-hole championship Tom Fazio golf courses. There are nature trails and wildlife viewing areas, and a carefully preserved wading-bird rookery. A variety of facilities can be found at the Family Activity Center including a tennis club, indoor/outdoor pools, fitness club, playground, basketball court, and picnic grounds. A grand clubhouse and a 29-acre state-of-the-art golf practice facility round out the community's features.
The southwestern tip of the island is encompassed by Sea Pines, Hilton Head's first developed community, or "plantation" as it was originally called. Conceived in the original development plan of Hilton Head, Sea Pines established a precedent for environmental excellence in preservation and planning. Sea Pines blankets 5,000 acres including a lush 605-acre forest preserve with nature trails and lakes.
