Having gone through a fairly tumultus number of months, I neglected to post to this blog on a regular basis. Sorry for that.

R.I.P. Miriam Makeba. She was a South African jazz and folk singer of whom I was very fond. Known as "Mama Africa" she was South Africa's first lady of song and one of the bright lights of African music in the 20th century.

Miriam Makeba died after performing at a concert in Italy. She was 76.
